PIC Timeline

The institution traces its beginnings to June 10, 1996, with the establishment of the Evangelical Holiness International Bible Institute (EHIBI). Shortly thereafter, on December 21, 1998, the Board of Directors for the support and development of a theological school was formally organized, and its first chairman was inaugurated—laying a strong and purposeful foundation for the institution’s future direction and mission.

On June 1, 1999, the school earned accreditation as a member of the Philippine Theological School Union, further strengthening its credibility in theological education. This was followed by its first graduation ceremony on April 4, 2000, with succeeding ceremonies in 2001, 2002, and 2003—signifying steady growth in its academic community.

A major milestone was reached on May 9, 2003, when the institution was officially renamed the International Evangelical College. Later that year, on November 18, 2003, the school completed its registration as an educational foundation and received formal recognition from the immigration office. On December 15, 2003, the institution transferred to its present campus in Antipolo City.

On March 23, 2004, the college held its consecration service, followed by its 5th graduation ceremony the next day. Progress continued, and on February 14, 2005, the institution was accredited by the Department of Education as a four-year college, culminating in its 6th graduation ceremony in March of the same year.

Academic expansion followed when the Department of Korean Studies was approved on March 22, 2006, leading to the 7th graduation on April 4, 2006. Later that year, on September 5, 2006, the institution celebrated its 10th Founding Anniversary with a proclamation ceremony that presented a renewed vision for the school. The 8th and 9th graduation ceremonies were held in 2007 and 2008, respectively, marking continued academic advancement.

Further growth came on March 21, 2009, when the Department of World Missions was approved by the Department of Education, followed by the 10th graduation on April 3, 2009. On November 13, 2009, the institution strengthened its international linkages by forging a twinning agreement with Seoul Theological University.

In 2010, the 11th graduation was held, and on June 24, 2010, a partnership with Jeonju University was formalized. That same year, a two-semester student exchange program with Jeonju University commenced on September 29, 2010. The 12th graduation ceremony took place on March 25, 2011, followed by the celebration of the institution’s 15th Founding Anniversary on June 24, 2011.

The year 2012 marked new developments, including the 13th graduation and the launch of the first Korean Language Special Course for employees of Samsung Electro-Mechanics on April 8, 2012. A twinning partnership with Seo Hai College was established on May 29, 2012, and on December 5, 2012, the college became an official member of the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities (ACSCU).

On March 22, 2013, the 14th graduation was held. The institution joined the Asia Theological Association (ATA) on April 12, 2013, and on June 3, 2013, it opened its Graduate School offering Master’s and Doctorate programs. A second Korean Language Special Course for Samsung Electro-Mechanics employees was launched on August 27, 2013. On October 15, 2013, the Department of Education granted approvals for Music and Fine Arts Education.

The year 2014 was marked by significant achievements: the PIC Youth Festival on March 18, 2014, the 15th graduation ceremony on March 22, and the official name change to PIC on April 3, 2014. Continued institutional development was evident as a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Indiana Aerospace University on September 15, 2014. Finally, on November 7, 2014, the PIC Foundation was formally established, and the new chairman of the board was inaugurated—signaling a strengthened vision and commitment to the institution’s mission.
